YES! Air Guard members can take advantage of the Montgomery GI Bill, which pays a monthly stipend of up to $362 per month toward college tuition and expenses. If you qualify, you can also receive the GI Bill Kicker, which could provide you with an additional $350 per month. Some states even offer up to 100% tuition assistance! YES! You earn college credits for Basic Military Training, in-residence technical training, and even correspondence courses you take. You can even earn a two-year associate degree in your occupation when you combine your civilian general education courses with those you receive in the military through the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).
YES! The GI Bill provides incredible education benefits for eligible Guard Soldiers. If you qualify, you could earn a monthly expense allowance of up to $384—totaling over $13,500 in a four-year period. And if you qualify for the Army National Guard Kicker, you’ll earn even more. Best of all, this money is sent directly to you (not to your school) to spend on books, supplies—anything you want. Most of these benefits can be used to pay for a college degree, a trade or apprenticeship program, and many other training or professional licensing programs. And some benefits may be transferable to dependents.
YES! The National Guard values higher education and offers many types of assistance to help you stay on track while you serve. The Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) is available to Soldiers and officer candidates (09S) who have one or more qualifying and disbursed Title IV federal loan(s). YES! Earn college credit away from campus and work toward your degree faster by earning credit for what you already know. The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSSTs) give you the opportunity to receive college credit for undergraduate and technical subjects. CLEP tests and DSSTs cover material generally required in the first two years of college. This means you can advance without spending time and money on courses you've already mastered.

State Tuition
All active Delaware National Guard members in good standing are eligible. Attend an accredited public or private School within the State either FT or PT. Agree to and understand the rules and guidelines described in the DNG PAM 600-3. All participants must serve at least 6 years with the Delaware National Guard. Participants have a 15 year window of eligibility to use the program once entered. Eligible Degrees of Study: Eligible to receive one Associates & one Bachelor’s Degree. Eligible to receive one Certificate but must be approved by the Education Review Board. Masters Degrees are reimbursed if funding exists after all Undergraduates have been paid.
Please be alerted that you must file your official bill, payment receipts and official sealed transcript within 45 days after the classes end or you forfeit the right to this money.

Get the credits you deserve – Earn college credit for your military experience!
Your military service has likely earned you college credit. Many schools and colleges award military students credit towards a degree based on training, coursework, and occupational specialty. You’ve worked hard in the military -now you can save tuition dollars and classroom time!
Your military training, courses, and occupational specialty can all be considered for college credit. For example, a survey conducted by the American Council on Education found that the average number of academic credits awarded from JST is 14 semester hours. This saves you tuition dollars and classroom time!
Policies vary from school to school and also by the program of study you choose. When you contact the school, you can help the process by having your paperwork in order.
When you request a transcript to be sent to a school, it is sent directly from the service’s transcript office to the school. However, you should also request an unofficial transcript so you can review its accuracy and completeness. You should do this BEFORE requesting your transcript be sent to a school so you can have any corrections made, if necessary.

The DLA is a program that the Delaware National Guard (DNG) and Wilmington University (WilmU) have teamed together to award a Masters of Science in Management (MSM) with a Concentration In Military Leadership and now it can also be applied to MS in Homeland Security.
The DLA program takes a year. The program starts in January and finishes in December. The specific dates of the classes parallel the schedule of WilmU 7 week courses (block courses). The courses are done on-line through a site at FT Gordon except for one traditional classroom session at the end of each module where every student is present. The location of the classroom session will be at the DNG facility.
