Brigadier General Carl Danberg assumed duties as Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Delaware National Guard, on 21 January 2021. As the Assistant Adjutant General, General Danberg ensures that all assigned units and personnel are fully trained, deployable and equipped for mobilization to support overseas contingency operations or any other homeland defense operation in support of the Nation’s needs and those of the Governor of the State of Delaware.
General Danberg joined the Delaware Army National Guard on direct commissioning in September 1998, as a 1LT. General Danberg completed the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Basic and JAG Advanced courses at Ft. Lee and Charlottesville, Virginia. He continued his service in the role of Trial Counsel for the 72nd Troop Command; Detachment Commander, 72nd Troop Command; S-1 of the 722nd, and Trial Counsel at Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ). He served as the Command Judge Advocate for the 261st Theater Tactical Signal Brigade for over a five year time period, where he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in 2010. General Danberg served as the Staff Judge Advocate for the Delaware National Guard, followed by his service as Chief of Staff, Joint Staff, coordinating activities between both the Army and Air. In addition to his military duties General Danberg sits on the Court of Common Pleas in Wilmington Delaware. He previously served the State as Attorney General and Commissioner of Correction.
